Chris Solinsky

March 22, 2012

This Runner’s World story has a few tidbits on Chris Solinsky’s mileage:

1.) In 2010, when Solinsky ran 12:55 and 26:59, he ran 30 weeks over 100 miles and 5 weeks over 120 miles.  Since Solinsky counts his easy days at 7:00 pace even though they are considerably faster, it’s safe to add 10-20 miles/wk to these figures.

2.)  In 2011, Solinsky ran 12 120-mile weeks and badly injured his hamstring.

3.)  Still rehabbing, today Solinsky is managing 60-80 miles on good weeks.

4.)  His coach, Jerry Schumacher is traditionally hands-off with mileage.  He lets his athletes pick their level of mileage and the yearly progression.
