This Boston Globe feature gives a sample training week of Geoffrey Mutai.  He runs everything on hilly dirt roads at 8000+ feet altitude:

Mon: am: 2:00 easy; pm: 60 easy (6:30-8:00 pace)

Tue: am: 50 easy (8:00 pace); pm: 30 w/u + 12 x 1k at 3:00 w/ 60 sec jog rec + 30 c/d

Wed: am: 1:50 easy (8:00 pace); pm: 2:00 easy (8:00 pace)

Thu: 40k, starting at 7:15 pace, dropping down to 5:35 pace

Fri: am: 1:50 easy (8:00 pace); pm: 2:00 easy (8:00 pace)

Sat: 30 w/u + 20 x 2:00 fast / 1:00 jog + 30 c/d

Sun: rest
