Bernard Lagat, HM training

Bernard Lagat offers a few more details about his higher mileage training, in preparation for the NYC half marathon and the spring track season:

I’ve gone up to 70, 72 miles maximum in a week. When I was doing my 50 miles a week, it’s the same intensity as at 70. I only run six days a week.

I am doing one long run a week. I’m going to go out for an easy 50 minutes today. I want to get the feel of running on the blacktop because normally, I run on the dirt. Saturday is when we go for 14 miles. This coming week, I feel we may get up to 18 miles.
